Program Administrator

For over forty years, Neighborhood Dispute Settlement (NDS) a non-profit organization, has provided conflict resolution services to communities in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties. Services delivered include mediation, conflict coaching, conflict resolution training, and Youth Peace Sessions.

The Program Administrator plays an integral role in implementing the mission and goals of Neighborhood Dispute Settlement, while overseeing all program operations. A qualified candidate must be able to successfully complete the tasks associated with managing a non-profit organization, including, but not limited to fundraising, volunteer management, outreach, public speaking, and communications.

A qualified candidate must have educational and practical experience in conflict resolution practices and be willing to serve as a leader for implementing conflict resolution initiatives in the local community.

This is a 20 hours per week position based in Harrisburg, PA. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Experience developing and maintaining annual budgets
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to creatively problem solve as new and difficult situations arise
  • Ability to interact in a respectful and neutral manner with individuals who may be upset or highly agitated
  • Ability to plan and facilitate trainings and presentations to the community
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Experience using QuickBooks, MailChimp, and Weebly (or other experience editing websites)
  • Experience working with youth
  • Experience researching and successfully obtaining grants, fundraising, and event planning
  • Educational and practical experience in conflict resolution
