Maryland Voted to Ban Fracking

From Food and Water Watch (http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/):

Wow! The Maryland Senate just voted 35-10 to ban fracking in Maryland! Since the House already passed the bill and Governor Hogan promised to sign it, we’re about to ban fracking in Maryland!

The anti-fracking movement in Maryland and across the country made this possible. Maryland will be the first state with gas reserves to pass a legislative ban on fracking AND Governor Hogan is the first Republican governor to call for a fracking ban. This is a major win for clean air, safe drinking water and a liveable climate — and we should all feel incredibly proud.

This victory is a true testament to the power of grassroots organizing and believing that even when the odds are stacked against us, we can do extraordinary things.
