Faith Leaders—Sign Letter to Protect Immigrants in Sensitive Locations (Deadline 9:00 am 7/11/19)

From Church World Service (http://www.churchworldservice.org):

We invite faith leaders to sign on to an important letter urging Members of Congress to support the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act of 2019 (HR 1011), which would expand and codify the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) existing “sensitive locations” policy and ensures that immigrants are able to worship, access education, and receive medical care without fear of deportation.

Faith Leaders: Sign on to the letter at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe38EfluIDXqv1rXM7dNP08t2MaXjsdONjphLa0wtyVMI4_Ww/viewform by 9am ET on Thursday, July 11th!

Our undocumented neighbors across the country have been targeted – such as men coming out of a church ministry that provides shelter in extremely cold conditions, a father dropping off his children at school, domestic violence victims at courthouses, and a mother with a brain tumor at a hospital. This legislation helps protect our community members by ensuring immigration enforcement actions do not take place in or near places like churches, schools, hospitals, and courthouses.

Please join this letter to see DHS follow humane practices in its enforcement actions without isolating vulnerable community members.

  1. Bob Wilson

As long as they are not in church, school or hospital, they should be subject to arrest.
