Lancaster Against Pipelines—Next Steps

From Lancaster Against Pipelines (http://www.wearelancastercounty.org/):

With the PA DEP’s recent approval of the remaining 3 permits required for construction, Williams plans to begin digging and cutting and bulldozing their way across Lancaster County in a few short weeks. But we have other plans for our county. We believe that, working together, we can still stop this pipeline.

“Change is only going to happen from the bottom up,” Mark Clatterbuck recently told the Washington Post. “It just comes down to [our] local community doing it. No one’s going to come in and save us.”

There are many things that you can do, right now, to help stop the Atlantic Sunrise export pipeline. Some things are small, like continuing to call your state representatives or sharing articles about the project on social media. You can continue to get the word out by talking to your neighbors, family members, and church or club members. Invite them to join our movement. Or forward this email to them!

You could also attend our upcoming fundraiser to help us “boogie for bail.” We’ll be collecting funds for bail, fines, and legal defense costs that may accrue during mass actions once construction begins.

Or you can come find out what your role will be in the upcoming nonviolent mass actions. Most roles do not involve arrest – although we need lots of folks willing to risk arrest, too. Whatever your interest or level of risk, there’s a critical role for you to play in this movement!

Nonviolent Mass Action Training

Sept. 23-24 (Sat. 10am to Sun. 3pm)

Climbers Run Nature Preserve, 226 Frogtown Road, Pequea, PA 17565

* More details to come!

This will likely be our last training before construction begins. Will you provide support to those demonstrating nonviolent resistance to this destructive pipeline? Are you willing to deliver food and water, take photos or videos during actions, sing songs or paint banners, join our team of field medics or serve as a legal observer? Will you stand arm in arm with neighbors to protect our water and homes? Are you willing to risk arrest?

Come ask questions and acquire all the skills you need to do what our government and courts have refused to do: protect our communities and environment from greedy billionaires.

Looking forward to seeing you at the training – and on the dance floor!
