Immigration Raids: Families at Risk, Children in Fear

From CLASP (http://www.clasp.org/):

CLASP condemns the Administration’s raids on immigrant families. These enforcement actions will severely undermine immigrant children’s healthy development.

Our research shows that children in immigrant families live in constant fear that a parent will be deported. Raids in a home setting are especially scary, often occurring while children sleep early in the morning. We’ve even heard from parents and early childhood providers that ICE will interrogate children without their parents during a home raid.

The impact of massive raids goes beyond individuals. Large-scale enforcement actions inflict chaos, fear, and instability on whole communities. We’re doing everything we can to push back on the president’s anti-immigrant, anti-child agenda.

We’ve created a resource page for service providers at https://www.clasp.org/immigration-raid-resources with guidance on supporting children and families affected by raids.
