House Passes HR6: American Dream and Promise Act

From the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (http://www.paimmigrant.org):

On June 4 the House passed HR6: The American Dream and Promise Act of 2019. This is the first bill providing a pathway to citizenship to pass the House in many, many years. This version would cover a little over 2 million immigrant youth, TPS holders, and DED recipients.

While not a perfect bill, it represents the potential for access to permanent legal status for many in our community, and is step in the right direction in the fight for full citizenship for everyone. If you want more info on the content of the bill, including why many groups have strong reservations about the version that passed, both the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) have good summaries and analysis.

Next stop, the US Senate! Watch for call to action.
