Greener Together—Activities for Connecting with the Natural World

From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):

People across the country are facing weeks of social distancing, with long school closures and social isolation, and are increasingly wanting to turn to the outdoors and nature as a refuge.

With Earth Day just around the corner, there’s no better time to remember that nature can calm us and reconnect us with ourselves, with other people, and with the world around us. But given the limitations on outdoor excursions, it can be a challenge right now.

That’s why we launched “Greener Together,” a project that gives you opportunities to connect with the natural world through engaging events, fun activities for kids and adults, and helpful tips for finding nature closer to home.

On Greener Together, you can find activities for kids including a bingo card, coloring pages, scavenger hunts, a weekly environmental webinar called “Green Kids,” and more. You can also find recommendations for books and films about nature, gardening tips, and ways to connect with nature on a walk through your neighborhood.

Check back periodically, because we will be adding more resources in the coming days and weeks.

We may be physically apart, but we are all in this together. We hope that Greener Together will help provide some relief and refuge during this challenging time.

Please feel free to share these resources with friends and family or anyone else who may need or want them.
