Urge Your Candidates to Get on the Record for Our Democracy 2018

From Common Cause (http://www.commoncause.org):

2019 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Pennsylvania democracy.

We need to know which state leaders will help us build a more inclusive government — so we’ve asked every candidate for Governor and State Senate to fill out the Our Democracy Pennsylvania 2018 questionnaire.

This questionnaire asks those running to represent us about where they stand in our fight for a better democracy.

Pressure from voters is the single most effective way to get candidates on the record — so please contact your candidates and ask them to fill out the Our Democracy 2018 survey today at https://democracy2018.org/.

We’re asking candidates if they’ll endorse, support, and prioritize:

  • Creating an independent commission to draw fair election districts
  • Automatically registering citizens to vote on their eighteenth birthday
  • No longer requiring an excuse in order to request an absentee ballot
  • Allowing registered voters who are neither Democrats nor Republicans to participate in primary elections
  • Fully funding crucial election infrastructure, including certified voting machines
  • Banning public officials from accepting gifts from individuals seeking government services

But we need your help to get candidates to go on the record. Whether lawmakers take a stand — and support our democracy work in 2019 and beyond — is largely up to activists like you.

Your voice can have a powerful impact — so please speak out today. Our website makes it easy for you to email, call, and tweet your candidates.

Thanks for your advocacy!
