Twelve charts from EPI show the real problems policymakers should have tackled in 2017 and the empty rhetoric behind the problems they did tackle. For example, a chart showing corporate profits at historic highs proves we do not need to redistribute wealth upwards through the tax code. Rather we should be addressing stagnating wages of American workers, wage and wealth gaps based on race, and unequal educational opportunities for children from lower-income families.
