Petition: Eliminate NAFTA 2.0 Terms That Lock in High Drug Prices

From the Citizens Trade Campaign (http://www.citizenstrade.org):

Big Pharma has a stealthy plan to keep medicine prices outrageously high by rigging the rules in the revised NAFTA deal.

That’s right, the NAFTA 2.0 text that Donald Trump signed late last year would lock in outrageously high U.S. medicine prices. And export our bad policies to Mexico and Canada to raise drug prices there.

Please sign the petition to Congress at http://org.salsalabs.com/o/1034/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=23531 insisting that Big Pharma giveaways are eliminated from the revised NAFTA deal.

The administration pledged to bring down medicine costs — but his renegotiated NAFTA proposal guarantees new monopoly rights for big pharmaceutical companies, so they can avoid generic competition and keep U.S. drug prices high.

There is growing momentum to tackle the problem of soaring drug costs. We simply can’t allow the NAFTA 2.0 deal to tie Congress’ hands, derailing the reforms needed to bring down drug prices.

Ask Congress to demand that the administration remove the Big Pharma giveaways before NAFTA 2.0 is sent to Congress.

Today, one in five Americans cannot afford the medicines that they are prescribed. Think about that: 20 percent of our fellow Americans face unnecessary suffering and premature death because they cannot afford the medicine they need.

Recently more than 70 consumer, faith, labor and other public interest groups representing tens of millions of people wrote Congress demanding the Big Pharma protections be eliminated from NAFTA 2.0.

The NAFTA 2.0 provisions that would keep medicine prices high have to go! Please sign the petition now.
