Send Message Demanding CMS Lower Medicare Premiums

From Social Security Works (http://www.socialsecurityworks.org/):

This year, 57 million older Americans saw their Medicare premiums rise by 15%―the largest rate hike in history. This was a result of a new, controversial Alzheimer’s drug called Aduhelm.

The drug’s manufacturer, Biogen, was originally planning to charge $56,000 per year for this unproven drug, causing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to announce the Medicare premium rate hikes last November. But, under massive public pressure, Biogen cut the cost of its new drug in half.

Now, CMS has announced that it will restrict Aduhelm coverage to clinical trials, making the Medicare premium rate hike no longer necessary.

Go to https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-the-biden-administration-fix-medicares-inflated-premiums to send a message directly to the Biden administration, including Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, demanding CMS immediately lower Medicare premiums and issue rebate checks in response to the inflated Medicare premiums in 2022.

Seniors are overpaying every month for Medicare. Rebate checks are the right thing to do―particularly at a time of rising costs on everything from health care to food to housing.

Write to the Biden administration. Everyone on Medicare should receive a rebate check from President Biden this year.

Thank you for taking action today.
