This is it. We’ve been working to build a more just and humane immigration system since starting in justice work 16 years ago, and we finally have a hopeful pathway to citizenship for many of our immigrant neighbors and friends with the coming Build Back Better legislation. Now, we need you to take action to make sure Build Back Better lives up to what it could be, so we can have the Holy Recovery that we all deserve.

This petition is long and inclusive because our faiths demand big transformation. Build Back Better could be the biggest legislation that we’ve seen since the New Deal. It would transform American lives and help demolish our country’s built-in racism and sexism that’s holding us back from building a more just society. We have the chance to build a pathway to citizenship for immigrants who need it. We have the chance to cut childhood poverty in half. We have the chance to invest in climate justice and build stronger foundations for our families and communities.
Our faiths speak to all of this. Our faiths cry out for justice and for human dignity to be recognized. This is the chance we’ve been waiting for to put our faith into action.
The House of Representatives is making vital decisions about what will be included in this legislation, so now is the time for us to speak up: the deadline for new names is September 15th!
