Tell Congress to Clear the Way for EPA to Adopt Strong Methane Regulations

From the Environmental Defense Fund (https://www.edf.org/):

After four years of chaos and uncertainty, our leaders are stuck clearing a thicket of legal and bureaucratic red tape adding unnecessary hurdles for the Biden-Harris administration to enact sensible safeguards for one of the most powerful climate pollutants — methane.

Fortunately, with one simple vote, Congress can get regulation of methane from the oil and gas industry back on track. Joint resolutions pending before the House and the Senate will, if approved, rescind damaging policies adopted by the previous administration, restore pollution protections and clear the way for EPA to adopt next-generation standards for new and existing oil and gas operations.

Common-sense, cost-effective limits on oil and gas methane pollution will combat the climate crisis and lead to healthier air — tell Congress to support the Methane Congressional Review Act today at https://act.edfaction.org/vrt0ijp!

Methane emissions are responsible for at least a quarter of the warming we experience today. Reducing methane pollution from the oil and gas industry is an efficient, and cost-effective way to slow the rate of warming now, while also cutting health-harming local air pollution for the millions of Americans who live near oil and gas wells and other operations.

Cutting methane reduces emissions that drive climate change, reduces harmful air pollution, and conserves American energy resources — it’s time that we get these sensible regulations back on track!
