Call PA Senators to Support Tax Incentives for Clean Energy and Transportation

From the Union of Concerned Scientists (http://www.ucsusa.org):

Congress is currently considering legislation that would provide federal tax incentives for clean energy and electric vehicle (EV) deployment. Some of these tax incentives are in danger of expiring, while others are overdue for an update.

These policies act as a powerful tool for the United States to reduce global warming pollution and keep us on track to meet the nation’s commitments under the Paris climate agreement.

Senator Pat Toomey and Senator Bob Casey are members of the Senate Finance Committee and have the power to advance this essential legislation. Write today at https://secure.ucsusa.org/onlineactions/6aeKN8vEOk2x-SCW1lpfCQ2 and urge our senators to fight for passage of clean energy and EV tax credits—our best opportunity to reduce heat-trapping emissions this year.

Tax incentives have long been a cornerstone of the development and deployment of clean energy technologies across the country—and have played a big role in reducing global warming pollution. While renewables and EVs have made extraordinary progress in the market, they are still competing on an uneven playing field. The clean energy and transportation industries have generated hundreds of thousands of jobs and positioned the United States as an innovation leader. Support for clean energy tax incentives would aid a burgeoning offshore wind industry, continue to lower costs for vital energy storage technologies, put more clean vehicles on the road, and greatly improve the energy efficiency of our buildings, among other benefits.

Urge Senator Toomey and Senator Casey to support clean energy and transportation tax incentives to help slash global warming pollution and avert the worst impacts of climate change.
