CA Governor Signs 100% Clean Energy Legislation—Tell PA Legislators to Follow

From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):

We have amazingly great news: California Governor Jerry Brown just signed a historic piece of clean energy legislation into law. The law commits California to getting 100 percent of its electricity from renewable and zero-carbon sources by 2045.

This isn’t just an important step forward for California, it’s a big win for the planet. The MIT Technology Review called this “the most important climate law in US history.”1

If California can switch to 100% clean energy so can Pennsylvania. Let your legislators in Harrisburg know you want to follow their lead at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=28569.

PennEnvironment has already started down this path here by partnering with a bipartisan group of legislators to draft and introduce similar legislation in Harrisburg that would transition the state to 100% renewable energy. Thanks to support you’ve demonstrated, the proposal already has 65 cosponsors in the state House and Senate, with support from both sides of the aisle in both chambers. And as the third largest emitter of global warming pollution in the nation, Pennsylvania has a responsibility to clean up its act when it comes to climate change.2

Tap into this historic moment: join us in encouraging Pennsylvania’s elected officials to be leaders in transitioning to a new energy future.

We know that the dirtiest climate polluters will try to belittle this victory and redouble their efforts to stop progress towards 100% renewable energy. Today I need your support to show that this is the start of something big.

Support your decision-maker’s work to have Pennsylvania join the growing ranks transitioning to 100% renewable energy.

P.S. Forward this to share the news with your friends and family members and encourage them to email their legislators too!
