Family unity is the foundation of our communities and a key principle within the U.S. immigration system. As people of faith, we know the importance of family unity. Right now, the Administration is undermining our values with proposals that would prolong family separation and dismantle access to family-based visas. Proposals are making their way through Congress that would prevent U.S. citizens from sponsoring their siblings, parents, and adult children, and would bar green card holders from sponsoring their adult children – destroying families and dreams. The administration is utilizing offensive, false rhetoric about “chain migration” to malign families and hurt our immigrant neighbors.
Here are the top 5 ways to take action today to protect family unity:
Call Congress: Go to https://greateras1.org/urgent-action-today-tell-congress-oppose-anti-immigrant-bill-instead-protect-dreamers-uphold-family-unity/ to urge your Representative to oppose the so-called “Securing America’s Future Act,” an anti-family, anti-immigrant proposal that would tear families apart and prolong family separation.
Sign the Petition: Click here to sign on to this petition opposing the use of the term “chain migration’ by political figures and members of the media.
