PHAN has long been pushing for lawmakers in Harrisburg to create more protections for Pennsylvanians who receive a surprise medical bill.
But, instead of taking action to protect you, some lawmakers are actually trying to take away the limited protections you DO have against surprise bills when you need to call an ambulance.
A medical emergency is scary enough, but if HB 1347 passes, Pennsylvanians will have to contend with the fact that only half of ambulance rides are in-network, and half of those that aren’t can result in expensive surprise bills.
Please take a few minutes and send a note to your Rep. in Harrisburg letting them know you oppose HB 1347 and you want to see MORE protections against surprise medical bills, not less. Go to https://pahealth.salsalabs.org/hb1347/index.html to send a message.
