Act Now in Support of DACA Recipients

From Church World Service (http://www.churchworldservice.org):

On June 19, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 800,000 DACA recipients living in the U.S., overturning the administration’s cruel termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. While this decision is a victory, only legislation–not litigation–can provide a permanent solution for DACA recipients and their families under attack by this administration. As we respond to the Supreme Court decision on DACA and fight for permanent solutions, we join Black communities as they call for justice, equity, divestment from racist systems and institutions and investments in Black communities and communities of color.

Here are the top ways to take action to celebrate the victory and continue to fight for a permanent solution:

  • Join or Organize a Virtual Vigil or Rally To Support DACA Recipients and Undocumented Youth: To RSVP for planned rallies and for resources to organize a virtual vigil, please click here.
  • Ring Bells for Justice: At 12 pm ET tomorrow, June 19th, we invite communities of faith and individuals to ring bells for justice. For more information, visit the Faith4DACA SCOTUS toolkit here.
  • Engage On Social Media With #Faith4DACA and #Homeishere: For sample social media posts, graphics and virtual prayer chain resources, visit the toolkit here.
  • Contact Your Elected Officials: Urge your elected officials to pass permanent solutions, such as the Dream and Promise Act of 2019, and make public statements in support of DACA recipients. For additional resources, sample script and call-in information, click here.
  • Dedicate a Prayer, Testimony, or Message in Your Faith Community: For prayer resources and stories of DACA recipients, visit the toolkit here.
