From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):
Inclusion of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the tax bill was a blow to us all. And, over the last two weeks, the tax bill and its sneaky Arctic Refuge provisions have been all over the news.
Friends of the oil industry would love for the Arctic Refuge drilling controversy to disappear, but we need to make sure news coverage of the tax plan continues to highlight it. Politicians who let the Refuge down must know they still have a battle ahead of them. Whether your member of Congress voted for or against the tax bill, everyone in your district needs to know the Arctic Refuge was included in it.
Can you help remind people about the tax bill’s selloff of our Arctic National Wildlife Refuge by writing a “letter to the editor” in your local paper? You can do so at http://act.alaskawild.org/survey/write-letters-editor-refuge.
The League has all the materials and resources you need to easily submit a letter. Contact Monica@alaskawild.org if you’re interested and she can work with you to make the process as easy as possible.
The oil and gas industry and its friends on Capitol Hill would love nothing more than for us to be quiet and let the potential destruction of America’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge fade into the background. We must keep a spotlight on the Refuge and let industry and its oily allies know that we are not going anywhere. Help us hold those that voted for drilling accountable, help us praise our champions who stood up for the Refuge, and help us show fossil fuel companies the American people will not support further destruction of our environment.
Thank you for working to keep Alaska wild.
