From the Food Research and Action Center (http://www.frac.org):
Congratulations! Our combined tireless efforts to push back against the terrible House Farm Bill have paid off. Anti-hunger advocates and dozens and dozens of groups representing children, women, older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, civil rights groups, religious and charitable entities, and formerly incarcerated individuals, worked together (pdf) to defeat H.R. 2, a bill that would have thrown millions of people off of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Because of a procedural maneuver, Speaker Ryan held open a possible revote until next Tuesday. That makes it more urgent than usual to thank you immediately for their “No” votes. As soon as the final vote is posted, FRAC will share it on our website.
The entire staff of FRAC is grateful for your relentless efforts to defeating this hugely damaging Farm Bill. The constant updates on your efforts and your intel have been invaluable, and your work has made all the difference.
Stay tuned for updates and needed actions.
