From Equality PA (http://www.equalitypa.org):
Senator Lisa Baker has scheduled a hearing on SB 1306—legislation to extend protections to LGBT workers across the state—in the Labor and Industry Committee on August 30th.
At the hearing, lawmakers will hear testimony on why LGBT employment protections are needed. This is a tremendous opportunity to make your voice heard—and show legislators that a strong majority of Pennsylvanians support laws ensuring LGBT workers are treated fairly and equally.
Don’t pass up this chance to add your voice to the fight for LGBT equality. Click here to let your representatives know you support SB 1306 for a fairer Pennsylvania where EVERYONE has the chance to work hard and contribute to our economy.
In the past two years there has been more debate at the State Capitol on LGBT non-discrimination legislation than there has been in the past 10 years combined.
That is testament to the very real impact that dogged and dedicated grassroots outreach has had on our legislative leaders.
But now is no time to let up.
If anything, it’s crucial we ramp UP pressure so that as legislators are considering testimony on LGBT employment protections at the August 30th hearing they are doing so with a baseline knowledge that their constituents think it’s time to pass LGBT non-discrimination.
