From the League of Women Voters PA (https://www.palwv.org/):
Making sure that Pennsylvania’s voting machines are secure, accurate, functional and accessible for Pennsylvanians of all abilities is essential to protecting our democracy.
Our voting machines are quickly reaching the end of their lifespan, with county election directors resorting to eBay to track down discontinued parts. Many counties use machines with that rely on internal electronics as the only method to record and audit votes.
We need new voting machines with updated technology and a voter verifiable paper audit trail. But without more money from the state, counties simply can’t afford it.
With the budget address next week followed by a month of budget hearings in the legislature, NOW is the time to contact Governor Wolf and your legislators and tell them that in order to protect our elections, counties need money to purchase voting machines.
- Call Governor Wolf at (717) 787-2500 or contact his office https://www.governor.pa.gov/contact/
- Find your legislator at http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/#address.
Our elections are too important to risk with outdated voting machines. Thank you for your work on this important issue!
