From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):
Especially during the holiday season, delivery trucks are driving through our neighborhoods and near our homes every day. Those packages shouldn’t come with added air pollution and a warmer climate.
Tell the world’s largest package delivery company, the United Parcel Service (UPS), to commit to all-electric trucks and deliver clean air for the holidays at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=47947.
In 2020, more than 70% of Americans were exposed to over a month of elevated air pollution.1 That pollution threatens our health with impacts like respiratory illness, cancer and even premature death. Mobile sources of pollution, including trucks, may have disproportionately larger impacts on health compared to other sources because they generally emit pollution in closer proximity to people.2
Electric trucks have no tailpipe pollution. UPS can raise the bar in a fossil-fuel drenched industry by replacing its iconic brown box trucks with electric trucks.
Urge UPS to go the extra mile and ditch diesel.
UPS has over 125,000 vehicles in its fleet.3 Imagine if every one of those iconic brown trucks were powered by clean, electric, zero-emission technology. As the efficiency of electric batteries transcends expectations and their cost plummets, UPS has an opportunity to step up its electric game and become an even bigger corporate leader on public health and the environment. It just needs to hear your voice.
Show your support for clean air. Ask UPS to make the commitment to an all-electric future.
Thanks again for all your support.
