From Environment America (https://environmentamerica.org/):
We are so close to achieving a major win for clean energy progress across the country, and we need your help to see it through.
Federal tax incentives have been one of our most effective tools in encouraging the growth of renewable energy. Wind energy has tripled in the U.S. since tax credits for production passed in 2009, and solar has likewise seen immense growth in the last decade.1
We need Congress to update and extend clean energy tax credits to see this trend continue. Send a message to our senators in support of clean energy tax credits at https://environmentamerica.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=47069.
When we first reached out over a month ago, thousands of you took action and wrote messages to your U.S. House representatives, asking them to prioritize tax incentives for clean energy.
Thanks to actions like yours, the House Ways and Means Committee made sure to include strong incentives in the markup of the Build Back Better Act, but we now need to secure support to see these tax credits through to the finish line.
Congress is negotiating this budget package right now. These tax credits could still be removed from the final act before it is passed, so we need to show our senators that clean energy tax credits are not up for debate.
In the last decade, we’ve seen a 30-fold increase in annual solar energy generation, and to transform our energy system to run completely on clean renewable sources, solar adoption needs to keep ramping up.2
Tell our senators that clean energy growth must be a top priority.
As we look toward the future, we know the cleanest, greenest and healthiest society we can have is one powered by 100% renewable energy. And clean energy tax credits will help pave the way for this transition, making it more feasible for companies and individuals to repower with clean energy sources.
Join us in calling on Congress to prioritize tax credits for clean energy. Send a message to our U.S. senators today.
