From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):
Good news! Senator Carper (D-DE) and a third of the Senate introduced the Clean Economy Act.
This bill sets the U.S. on a path to net zero climate pollution no later than 2050. And it comes on the heels of a similar bill in the House of Representatives that was introduced last November with over 150 co-sponsors. Both bills will cut carbon pollution by setting the same aggressive, yet achievable outcome of net zero by 2050 and get the United States started immediately on a path to achieve that goal.
Now we must build more support in the Senate and that means people of faith and conscience need to make their voices heard. Urge Pennsylvania’s senators to support the Clean Economy Act today at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/50836/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=26622!
Let’s make sure Congress knows that people of faith and conscience are united behind action on climate change and we demand action now toward a clean energy future. Houses of worship across the nation have been installing solar panels and increasing energy efficiency. It’s time for our government to act.

The impacts of climate change are not felt equally across communities. Global warming is already causing destruction to this sacred planet we call home and displacement of some of the world’s poorest, most vulnerable people. It’s harming the health and safety of our communities, and disproportionately affecting lower income families and people of color. We need to stop talking and start acting on the solutions at hand. Strengthening America’s clean economy would put us on the path to achieving net zero carbon pollution in a fair, equitable and just manner.
