The package features some historic measures that will enable greater access, security, and engagement from Pennsylvania voters. A few of the historic election reform measures include:
- $90 Million Dollars… for new voting machines in all 67 counties that will feature an auditable paper ballot trail;
- $4 Million Dollars… for 2020 Census Outreach helping to ensure all residents are counted;
- Vote by Mail… that will give all voters the choice to vote by mail in all elections;
- 15 Day Voter Registration Deadline… individuals can register to vote 15 days before election, which improves making sure everyone has the opportunity to vote;
- Improved Absentee Ballot Deadlines… voters have until 8pm on Election Day to drop off ballots.
Common Cause Pennsylvania and some of our key democracy partners view this package as a win for the voters of our commonwealth and is being considered by both the PA House and Senate next week.
