From the Every Child Matters Education Fund (http://www.everychildmatters.org/):
“I can’t believe how much child care costs.” Chances are, you’ve heard this from a parent, or said it yourself.
Early care and education are critical for a child’s developing brain. Reliable, flexible child care options are essential for working parents trying to make ends meet. But they are out of reach for too many families.
Child care costs more than rent in all 50 states, and it costs more than college tuition in most states. Only a third of preschool-aged children are enrolled in public preschool programs.
Urge the presidential candidates to take a stand – for America’s kids and families at https://www.signherenow.org/petition/childcare/ecm/.
All families should have access to high-quality, affordable early care and education options. Research shows that early learning improves children’s outcomes in school and throughout their lives. Ensuring equal access to high-quality child care and pre-k education helps to close the opportunity gap facing America’s kids.
That’s why Every Child Matters has sought since early last year to make these issues a priority in the 2016 election.
Now we’re joining a dozen other organizations to call on the presidential candidates to show their support for high-quality child care and preschool.
Join us – sign the petition asking candidates to stand with families.
Thank you for being part of the movement.
