From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):
Last weekend, State Representative Wendi Thomas became the 100th member of the General Assembly to cosponsor our legislation to transition Pennsylvania to 100% renewable energy by the year 2050 through House Bill 1425 and Senate Bill 630.
This is a historic milestone in our campaign to make Pennsylvania a leader in the fight to solve climate change and promote clean energy.
But our work isn’t done. It’s time for Gov. Wolf to call for action on this proposal—urge him to do so at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=33643.
We need to pass this legislation to achieve what the scientific community has said is necessary to avoid the worst effects of climate change: eliminate global warming pollution by 2050.
About 40% of the legislators in both the State House and the State Senate are currently cosponsoring this legislation and we only need to get a few more legislators onto the bill to have enough votes for it to pass.
It’s time to follow in the footsteps of Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Washington, Maine, Nevada, and New York — all states that have passed similar legislation.
Tell Governor Wolf to support HB1425 and SB630.
Then share this alert with friends and family and ask them to do the same.
Thank you for supporting 100% renewable energy for Pennsylvania and helping us achieve this crucial milestone of 100 state legislators sponsoring our bills!
