From the Courage Campaign (https://www.couragecampaign.org/):
Everyone should be able to go to a store, church, workplace, club, festival, anywhere without the fear of being killed. But this is no longer the reality for the United States.
This country has an epidemic of gun violence fueled by the NRA and white supremacy. In the three mass shootings that have happened in the last two weeks alone, all involved the use of assault rifles that were legally purchased. Congress can do something about that.
The Assault Weapons Ban was introduced in Congress earlier this year with widespread support, but it has seen no action since then. A bill like this could save countless lives from gun violence. Can you help us by putting the pressure on your member of Congress to pass the Assault Weapons Ban?

California Senator Dianne Feinstein — who authored the original assault weapons ban in 1994, which Republicans let expire in 2004 — was one of the representatives who introduced this year’s bill to ban the sale, transfer, manufacture and importation of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines. Because despite the fact that California has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, they have a smaller impact if people can cross state lines and buy assault weapons like the one used to kill three people at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in northern California.
The United States is no stranger to gun violence, and almost everyone has been impacted by it in some way. We are the only industrialized country in the world that has mass shootings on this scale with 251 this year alone.(1)
Congress — Democrats and Republicans alike — have been hesitant to push for the ban, but that’s begun to change.(2)(3) It’s time for us to keep the pressure up on our legislators to ensure that this gets passed.
Congress needs to save lives by passing the Assault Weapons ban.
