From the National Council of Churches (http://www.ncccusa.org):
On December 6, the House of Representatives passed HR 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019. This legislation would restore the portion of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 struck down by the Supreme Court in 2013 that would require pre-clearance of voting changes in those states with a history of voting discrimination. This is a vital tool to prevent and reverse discrimination against African-Americans and other communities of color who to this day face obstacles to exercising their right to vote.
