In response to this global pandemic, the U.S. House of Representatives is providing leadership and support to millions of working families throughout the United States. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, passed early Saturday morning with bipartisan support, will provide immediate paid sick leave and paid family leave, expanded unemployment insurance, vital nutrition aid, more Medicaid funds for states, and free COVID-19 testing.
But we need the Senate to act!
Call your Senators today and urge them to pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act now! We need to join together and demand these essential lifelines go into effect immediately.

Sample script:
“Hello, my name is ______ and I am from [city/town]. This is urgent: Please tell Senator _____ to vote for the House coronavirus bill NOW – it protects people most in need and so protects all of us. The bill includes immediate paid sick leave and paid family leave for millions more, unemployment insurance, nutrition aid, more Medicaid funds for states, and free testing. The House bill is a necessary start – please vote for it now, and then get to work on providing more help for the most vulnerable, including health workers.”
We are truly in a national emergency. We need to unite our voices and compel our lawmakers to act. While this legislation, alone, will not stop the spread of the coronavirus or return normalcy for millions of Americans, it is a critical step toward allowing low-income and working families to weather the damaging economic and health effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Together, we must call on the Senate to pass this commonsense legislation.
