Throughout the pandemic, postal workers have courageously and reliably fulfilled their mission—even in the face of a Postmaster General who has undermined their work and sabotaged the mail service we all rely on.
Day in and day out, mail carriers deliver vital medicines, mail, holiday gifts, Census forms, and tens of millions of mail-in ballots. This past year, millions of voters across the country were able to vote safely during this pandemic thanks to the efforts of our U.S. Postal Service. Clearly, our Postal Service is an essential service and a critical part of our nation. But because of wrong-headed moves by the current Postmaster General, service has been declining.
Right now there are four vacancies on the USPS Board of Governors, and President Biden can fill them all and tilt the balance of power back to leadership that believes in the simple, universal promise of the Postal Service.

For decades, conservatives and their allies on Wall Street have set out to undermine the U.S. Postal Service, destroying not only critical services, but eliminating hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs.
The U.S. Postal Service plays a critical role in our economy—and in our democracy. The Biden administration must act swiftly to protect and strengthen it.
We need President Biden to fight for a robust Postal Service designed for the 21st Century. A Postal Service that delivers the mail efficiently, but is also nimble and innovative enough to develop an expanded role in cities and rural areas throughout our country.
We need to ensure the Biden administration works urgently to undo the lingering damage caused by the agenda of a Postmaster General who has undermined the delivery of the mail. And we need to ensure that the next round of COVID relief will champion emergency COVID relief for the USPS, which plays such a vital role for people and businesses during this terrible pandemic.
An underfunded Postal Service will lead to service cutbacks, the closure of essential post offices in rural parts of our country, a loss of customers and a “death spiral” of the U.S. Postal Service. We need a Board of Governors that will fight for funding and innovations so the Postal Service works for a 21st century America.
