Democrats are nearing a deal to Build Back Better. And the Billionaires Income Tax could be the critical piece that gets this deal done―taxing wealth like work, as President Biden has repeatedly called for, and satisfying moderate Democrats who are squeamish about raising other kinds of taxes on the wealthy and corporations.

Democratic and Republican senators need to hear from us today, demanding they tax the wealth gains of America’s 700+ billionaires. The wealth of U.S. billionaires has skyrocketed 70% or $2.1 trillion during the last 19 months of the pandemic.[1] Democrats need to know that we support this important plan and Republicans need to be reminded that voters in red and purple states agree that billionaires need to pay their fair share.

Hello, my name is _____________ and I’m a constituent of the senator’s. I am calling to urge Senator _________ to support the tax reform plan being put forward by Senator Wyden and Majority Leader Schumer.

It will raise the revenue needed to fully fund the Build Back Better plan by making the rich and corporations begin paying their fair share of taxes.

Senator Wyden’s tax plan includes the Billionaires Income Tax, which I strongly support. It is critical that billionaires start paying taxes on their investment gains each year the same as workers like me pay taxes on our wages each year.
