From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):
We all know that fracking pollutes our air, drinking water, and outdoor environment.
That’s why it’s outrageous that the state legislature is currently considering a proposal to give fracking and petrochemical companies hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to make it easier to do. Allowing these massive handouts would continue our addiction to fracking, increase pollution from single-use plastics (which are more and more often getting their raw materials from fracking), and keep much-needed money out of important state programs that already go underfunded.
Email your state senator at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=34520 and tell her/him to vote NO on this fracker handout today.
This proposal is House Bill 1100, and it will grease the skids for future dangerous fracking and petrochemical projects in the state. More of these dirty projects will inevitably mean more air pollution, more water pollution, and more climate pollution, all at the expense of the taxpayers and the state programs and agencies that are massively underfunded like the Department of Environmental Protection, our schools and our infrastructure.
Time is running out to stop this polluter handout. It already passed the state House and was sent on to the state Senate. Make your voice heard today by emailing your state senator.
Then forward this to friends and family in Pennsylvania and ask them to do the same.
Thank you for standing up to the fracking industry.
