From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):
This past summer, we saw firsthand that the climate crisis is here and already impacting Pennsylvanians. We need to take action now to ratchet down climate pollution.
Fortunately, environmental champions in the state capitol recently put forth a proposal to direct hundreds of millions of dollars from climate polluters to support clean energy alternatives here in Pennsylvania. This legislation, called the “RGGI Investment Act,” will help us reduce air pollution and take steps to tackle climate change.
Ask your state legislators to add their name in support of this proposal at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=46823.
Pennsylvania is currently on the verge of joining the country’s most successful state-level program for tackling climate change: the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). Through this program, climate polluters will be required to pay for the carbon pollution they emit.
A group of environmental leaders in the state legislature are now proposing to use the funds raised from this program to support much-needed clean energy alternatives in Pennsylvania, like wind and solar projects, and energy efficiency and conservation programs. These important proposals are House Bill 1565, (introduced by State Rep. Dianne Herrin) and Senate Bill 15 (introduced by State Senator Carolyn Comitta).

The RGGI Investment Act would ensure that the money raised through RGGI is used to strengthen our clean energy sector, while also investing in environmental justice communities and supporting workers and communities that are most affected by energy transition.1
While RGGI helps Pennsylvania ratchet down our carbon pollution, the RGGI investment Act will make RGGI’s impact go even further.
Email your state legislators today and ask them to cosponsor the RGGI Investment Act.
