The Covid-19 pandemic makes the need for PA workers to have access to paid family medical leave clearer than ever before. Employees need to protect themselves, their coworkers, and their families from illness, as well as care for their loved ones experiencing illness.
As a nation, we are in uncharted territory. As a state, we are scrambling to find answers. As citizens of Pennsylvania, we must urge our State Representatives to act.
Let’s get prepared to protect our working families from the health crises of the future, both personal and public. Our PA Representatives must do the right thing:
- for the small businesses that will continue to struggle to reopen and rebound;
- for the hourly wage staff of restaurants and bars who have been told to stay home; and
- for the parents with young children who must balance caregiving with working from home (if they’re lucky enough to have the option do so).
Join us at https://p2a.co/fM3qriM and tell our PA Representatives that we cannot wait. They must support HB 1739, The Family Care Act, because it is simply the right thing to do – and now is the right time to do it.
