From the Coalition on Human Needs (http://www.chn.org):
We are living through a global health pandemic. It seems painfully clear that everyone should have access to a doctor and insurance to pay for needed treatment.
Yet, Donald Trump has opposed allowing people to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act Exchange. His decision against reopening ACA enrollment will harm uninsured Americans and put further strain on our healthcare system.
Together, let’s remind the administration we are in the middle of a national health crisis and people need to be able to sign up for health insurance.

Sign the petition at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/sign-the-petition-every-aca-exchange-must-reopen-aca-enrollment-to-ensure-everyone-has-access-to-healthcare-amid-the-coronavirus-pandemic demanding the Department of Health and Human Services open Special ACA Enrollment Periods in all states.
Under Affordable Care Act rules, people who buy their own insurance on the national and state health insurance exchanges must purchase a policy during the regular open enrollment period. Reopening the state and national health insurance exchanges now, however, would help more uninsured Americans acquire health insurance, greatly easing concerns about the cost of healthcare and encouraging people to get the care they need to stay healthy.
After all, if the sick have health insurance, they will be more inclined to seek medical attention—and that will help keep us all safe.
Throughout this pandemic, CHN will continue to fight for effective public policies that address the needs of low-income and other vulnerable people throughout our country—whether that’s additional direct payments to people and families or increased access to affordable, quality healthcare.
