Good news! With pressure from the faith community, Ford, along with Volkswagen, Honda and BMW have finally decided to support a compromise with California and a dozen other states that follow the California Clean Car Standards. This compromise will keep a majority of the current benefits. While this is not perfect, it’s far better than the administration’s plan to entirely gut our current Clean Car Standards.
Right now we have one more chance to support clean cars and stop the administration’s proposed rollback. To succeed, we need additional automakers, like Toyota and GM, to join in and support cleaner cars.

The administration is reportedly “enraged” by the Ford-California compromise and pressuring the other automakers to go along with his rollback. Just yesterday President Trump tweeted calling the automakers that joined with California’s Clean Car Standards “foolish.” But if they side with Trump they are the ones who will fall behind in the race for more efficient vehicles.
Clean cars are the future, but that future is threatened and we need people of faith and conscience to speak up now. Please join me – today – in telling GM and Toyota that we expect them to stand up for cleaner cars.
