From the Clean Air Council (http://www.cleanair.org/):
Harmful pollution from the natural gas industry in Pennsylvania is on the rise. Industry’s own self-reported data shows that methane emissions went up an alarming 28 percent between 2014 and 2015. Since this data is self-reported, the numbers are likely much higher. It’s clear that voluntary measures aren’t solving this problem.
To address this issue, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is finally moving forward with health protections to reduce air pollution from future natural gas facilities.
Write to DEP today, thanking them for taking this first step, and asking them to make these protections as strong as possible while also moving quickly to develop standards for all of the existing natural gas operations currently polluting our air at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51176/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=21090.
With the Trump Administration’s all-out attack on air pollution standards, it’s more important than ever that Pennsylvania’s elected officials step up to protect their citizens.
