Call Congress to Say No Vote on NAFTA Till Big Pharma Giveaways are Fixed

From the Citizens Trade Campaign (http://www.citizenstrade.org):

The proposed North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) revision fails to make the changes needed to protect jobs, raise wages, defend worker rights and safeguard the environment — but it does contain special new giveaways for Big Pharma that would lock in high medicine prices.

Please call Congress now at 1-855-856-7545 and tell them “No Vote on NAFTA Until It’s Fixed.”

Alternatively, you can call directly–find contact information:

Corporate lobby groups are currently spending millions in a push to convince Congress to pass NAFTA 2.0 as written.  That’s because the current NAFTA plan will let them continue outsourcing good-paying, middle-class jobs to Mexico where they can pay workers pennies on the dollar.

The White House NAFTA proposal also contains new language locking in lengthy monopoly periods for lifesaving medications, which would undermine efforts to reduce healthcare costs for consumers and taxpayers alike.

We can’t let Congress rubber-stamp this bad NAFTA deal.  Please take action now.  Call Congress at 1-855-856-7545 and say:

My name is                                                     and I’m calling from your city to leave a message urging my Representative to please OPPOSE voting on the NAFTA deal until it’s fixed.  A real NAFTA replacement needs much stronger labor and environmental standards with swift and certain enforcement mechanisms — and it can’t sneak in language that locks in high medicine prices.

Your elected officials are absolutely hearing from corporate lobbyists.  They also need to hear from constituents like you!  Please call now. Learn more at https://www.citizenstrade.org/ctc/blog/2019/03/28/nafta-2-0-would-lock-in-high-medicine-prices/.
