Last week, FAMM launched the “Keep Them Home” campaign to prevent thousands of people on home confinement from being returned to federal prison. A legal memo issued by the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) in the final days of the Trump administration says they’ll have to go back, but we’re urging the Biden administration to rescind the memo and keep them home.
We need to flood the DOJ comment line with our concerns. Today, we’re declaring a national call-in day to urge AG Garland to fix this mess.

Hi, my name is and I am calling to urge the Attorney General to rescind or overrule the Trump Administration’s Office of Legal Counsel memo that would require thousands of people on CARES Act home confinement to return to prison when the emergency ends.
The memo is wrong. The CARES Act does not require their return to prison. These individuals were not told that they would have to return to prison after the pandemic. Many have successfully reintegrated into society and are critical supports to their families. Forcing them to return to prison will destabilize families that rely on having their loved ones home.
Please rescind or overrule the Trump Administration’s Office of Legal Counsel memo and ensure that people on home confinement complete their sentence at home.
