From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):
Today Reuters published that ConocoPhillips is charging ahead with its dirty Willow drilling plans in Alaska despite the recent federal court ruling that the project’s approval had “serious flaws.”
The article reported that ConocoPhillips “is pushing forward on its massive Willow development on Alaska’s North Slope and has not lost time in its schedule.” In fact, “ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest producer, and plans to spend $4 billion to $6 billion on Willow.”(1)
Please immediately pressure the Biden administration to reject this project once and for all at https://secure.alaskawild.org/a/rejectwillow.
The Willow project would produce about 600 million barrels of oil resulting in massive amounts of climate-killing carbon emissions, plus it would include a new processing facility and huge drill pads coupled with miles of new roads and pipelines. The people of Nuiqsut would endure increased air and noise pollution and continued industry encroachment that will lead to significant physical and mental health harms.
