From Faith in Public Life (http://www.faithinpubliclife.org):
Five million undocumented immigrant workers in our communities have risked their lives to keep us fed, cared for and moving during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now is the time to ensure our immigrant neighbors are protected and have ways to remain safely within our communities, which means citizenship in this country. Immigrants are our neighbors, loved ones and community members. For far too long, immigrant families have lived in fear of being torn apart because Congress has failed to act. As we seek a Holy Recovery, we demand that all immigrants are included.
Join us and urge your members of Congress to publicly support a pathway to citizenship for millions of essential workers and their families, dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders in the upcoming reconciliation bill at https://fpl.actionkit.com/call/citizenship-pathway-holy-recovery.
As faith leaders, we have the moral responsibility to demand citizenship for DACA recipients, TPS holders, essential workers and all immigrants. Congress must take bold action for justice. By providing a pathway to citizenship we can start to build a more just nation that recognizes and strengthens the web of mutuality that binds us all together.
Citizenship can’t wait. As Congress discusses what is needed in a reconciliation bill, this is a non-negotiable.
