From the National Alliance to End Homelessness (http://www.endhomelessness.org):
The Senate unveiled its latest coronavirus relief bill, and there’s bad news: not only does it fail to extend the eviction moratoria, but funding for homelessness and housing is nonexistent.
As negotiations begin with the House for a final bill, now is the time for you to speak up at https://endhomelessness.org/actions/act-now-for-homelessness-covid-relief-funds/.
We need your voices and perspectives to convince elected officials that homelessness and housing programs need this relief funding.
To appropriately respond to COVID-19, Congress must include the following amounts for homelessness programs:
- $11.5 billion in Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG)
- $1 billion in Housing Choice Vouchers
- $100 billion in rental assistance
Contacting your elected officials is essential in this current moment to ensure continued funding for housing and homelessness as a result of the pandemic.
