From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):
Last week, dozens of faith leaders from around the country convened on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to advocate for a world where all living things can thrive. We met with more than 30 Senator’s offices and 80 House of Representative’s offices to ask for their support of important climate policies, including advancing a bill calling for 100% clean, renewable energy by 2050.
There is still time for you to take meaningful action to support the “100 by 50” Bill. Go to http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/50836/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=24829 to tell your Members of Congress that we must transition to a clean energy economy. It is important that they hear from you as a constituent about why you support this important legislation.
Through more than 100 in-person meetings, Interfaith Power & Light clergy and lay leaders, representing our millions of supporters around the country, highlighted the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, and how our calling to work for justice compels us to take action to break our addiction to fossil fuels that are driving global warming.
The faith community brings a unique and powerful voice to our elected leaders, speaking about the climate crisis as a moral and spiritual crisis and calling them to contemplate how their faith traditions call them into action.
Thank you for being part of the faith climate action movement to address climate change, and thank you for taking action.
