Act to Stop Census 2020 Citizenship Question—Enter Your Comment

From the Coalition on Human Needs (http://www.chn.org):

Would you spare a moment to ensure that low-income communities aren’t robbed of federal funding and representation they deserve?

Leave a public comment to keep the Citizenship question out of the #2020Census:  deadline, August 7.

The Administration wants to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census. They want to ask about citizenship despite clear evidence that such a question will stop many immigrants from participating in the Census. Fewer immigrants will be counted, as well as fewer children and people of color. The Census determines congressional representation and where billions of federal dollars will be spent. A citizenship question means communities with the greatest needs will get fewer resources for education, anti-hunger and housing programs, health care and much more. Designing a Census that knowingly discourages people from being counted is intolerably anti-democratic. Don’t stand for it: No citizenship question on the 2020 Census.
