Mark your calendars now for a week of special events and actions this June! We’ll announce all of the specifics very soon, but here’s a sneak preview on what we’re organizing!
June 19 – Virtual Tour of PA Fracking Impacts – the Better Path Coalition started organizing tours of SWPA for legislators last summer. COVID-19 forced us to cancel in person tours, so we’re going virtual and expanding our tour to include the whole state and the many ways shale gas development has impacted communities. The tour on June 19 will be the first installment. We’ll be asking your help in getting legislators and other elected officials to attend. Of course, you’re also invited to take the tour!
June 20 – We’re excited to be offering a special daytime webinar for young people with Lynne Cherry, creator of the Young Voices for the Planet film series. The session will help young people learn how to tell their stories. We’ll work with attendees to gather their stories so we can present them to policy makers and others. Lynne Cherry will also be our speaker on the June 9th Better Path Presents to discuss her work and how to engage young people in civic involvement.
June 21 – Many of you probably know where you were on June 21, 2010. This June 21st will be the 10th anniversary of the premier of Gasland on HBO. Filmmaker Josh Fox will join us for a very special Better Path Presents to discuss Gasland at 10.
