From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):
We believe that elections are a referendum on the values that will shape our future. Voting is a sacred duty – however, too many Americans of faith and conscience are unlikely to vote in the midterm elections in November.
Their voices matter, and with your help they can make themselves heard.
Sign up to text faith voters at https://interfaithpowerandlight.salsalabs.org/joinafaithvotertextbank22/index.html.
Together with our affiliates in Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, IPL will reach out to a half million voters of faith who don’t vote often and are alarmed by the climate crisis. Your outreach will encourage them to vote their values of climate justice.
How? By reaching people where they are – on their cellphones, via text message.
Each text is sent by a volunteer like you from our easy-to-use online system, not your own phone or phone number. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection.
We will quickly train you on how to connect with potential voters using pre-written messages in a text bank event on Zoom.
Sending text messages to voters works. In 2020, Interfaith Power & Light volunteers like you texted more than 235,000 infrequent voters of faith and your outreach increased voter turnout by 1.7% – three times more effective than benchmark campaigns!
This election is about the values shaping our future. Together, we can protect God’s Creation, our Sacred Earth, and create a better world for our children.
