Sign Up As an Election Protection Volunteer

From Common Cause (http://www.commoncause.org):

Every eligible voter deserves to have their vote counted — that’s the cornerstone of our democracy. Democracy suffers when eligible, registered voters are turned away from the polls, unable to find their polling place, or otherwise blocked from exercising their rights.

That’s why every election year, we mobilize thousands of Election Protection volunteers here in Pennsylvania. These trained, nonpartisan volunteers serve as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, outdated infrastructure, rampant misinformation, and needless obstacles to the ballot box.

This volunteer could be you! We are asking you to serve your community, your Commonwealth and our collective democracy by signing up as an Election Protection volunteer in this upcoming election on November 5th.

Sign up today as a non-partisan poll monitor with Election Protection and help make sure every vote counts.

As a nonpartisan volunteer poll monitor, you will assist voters on Election Day should they encounter any problems voting. You’ll receive training, get materials, meet other volunteers and our professional staff, and help voters on election day know their rights — and how to get help.

Volunteers commit to taking at least one Election Day shift to stand outside of their assigned polling location following their training. You will distribute “Know Your Rights” cards to voters, answer basic questions from voters at the polls, and help voters resolve any problems that occur, with the help of trained legal professionals.

Volunteers like you will be voters’ first line of defense against suppression tactics, confusing laws, outdated infrastructure, and other impediments to making themselves heard. Pennsylvania’s voters need your help.

Sign up as an Election Protection volunteer today and we’ll reach out with all the information you need to get started.
