The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) serves nearly 9 million children, but kids in 16 states could lose coverage next month unless Congress acts this week—and families will start getting notices informing them that their coverage is ending in the first week of January.
Republicans just prioritized a tax cut for the rich, while leaving poor kids in the cold. If we cannot care for the most vulnerable among us, what are we doing as a nation?
That’s why I started a petition to Congress demanding they save CHIP. Go to https://petitions.moveon.org/sign/save-chip to sign and share my petition.
Save CHIP, which serves nearly 9 million children. It’s outrageous that Congress easily funds endless wars and prioritized a tax break that primarily benefits the ultra-wealthy, but can’t find the money or compassion to fund children’s health care.

We need to stand up for the almost 9 million kids who rely on CHIP everyday. The program was last reauthorized by Congress in 2015, and was up for reauthorization again on September 30 this year, but the deadline passed. Without reauthorization, the money will start to run out soon, and children’s lives will be at risk.
